You've taken the time to find just the right cockatiel for you, please take the time to find him the right cage. Cockatiels can live up to 20 years, sometimes more. We tried to do the right thing with our first cockatiel and bought him a cage that met the minimum requirements. We spent $79 at Petco on his cage. That was before we knew about powder coated cages and before we knew about A&E Cages. We've learned a lot since our first cockatiel and want to save you the expense of buying the wrong cage and having to replace it down the road.
We primarily use A&E Cages for our birds and really love them. Our males and females enjoy their double flight cages, with plenty of room to spread their wings. The double stack flight cage has worked really well as a breeding cage on the bottom and the "upstairs" unit serves as playspace for newly weaned babies.
A&E Cages are powder coated and bird safe. For slightly more than an expoxy coated cage at Petco, your new cockatiel can enjoy a larger and safer space. We recommend the Single Flight Cage for 1-3 tiels. It's the best buy for the money, please email for a quote with shipping to your address.
Lots of room for a variety of perches and toys to keep your tiel happy while you're at work. The large front door allows easy access for cleaning, as well and opens safely so your tiel can come out and play when you are home to supervise!
This cage comes with 2 wooden perches, 2 plastic feeders, removable tray for easy cleanup, and screw in casters for a movable cage!
Also comes in your choice of 6 colors: Bright White, Light Gray (both smooth finish), Charcoal, Diamond Blue, Green, Sand (these 4 colors are textured).

We also recommend purchasing additional perches with different widths and textures to keep your tiels feet happy and healthy! Wind a rope perch from the top of the cage to the bottom for a spiral staircase inside the cage! A wooden cockatiel swing is always a favorite play spot. A safety pedicure perch keeps nails and beaks in good condition.
